Parents

Through out the year the members of Delta Zeta welcome their parents to the Missouri State campus to give them a chance to visit the house meet the sisters.

Every fall, the members plan a special Parent's Weekend.  They open the Delta Zeta house and invite the parents during the afternoon for tours.  Later in the evening the members and their parents gather for a dinner and auction.  The night begins with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by dinner and then a live auction.  The night is completed with a movie and short presentation by several members.

This year's Parent's Weekend was held on November 14, 2009 at the Oasis Hotel in Springfield.  All of the money raised during the auction is used to directly benefit the chapter and its members.  This past Parent's Weekend raised an estimated $4,000, item's auctioned off included wine and spa baskets, golf supplies, and other Christmas themed baskets.

During the year the members plan weekends with their parents that include mother-daughter luncheons, picnics, bar-be-ques, and golf tournaments.  If you are a parent of a member and have any questions or ideas for a parent's weekend, please contact Cassie Pirrone at Pirrone122@live.missouristate.edu.

Last year on February 12 Delta Zeta hosted a mother's day.  The day included an open house from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a purse party and creative memories, and concluded that night at the house with a show by Springfield's Skinny Improv. Our dad's day was also held last year on April 26, and included BBQ at the Delta Zeta house and then moved to a Springfield Cardinals game.

If your daughter is not a Delta Zeta member, but is considering the recruitment process at Missouri State University and you have any questions about the sorority or the process, please visit our Recruitment page or e-mail Angela Houska at Houska333@live.missouristate.edu.
